A Short History of Pastworld

When Able Buckland (lifetime CEO of The Buckland Corporation) was a boy he loved reading the Sherlock Holmes adventures and other stories set in that special old time Victorian London with its fogs and colourful characters of all kinds. When he was a student at University he finally visited London, and Mr Buckland was disappointed to see how little of the romantic old city that he had dreamed of as a boy was left. He vowed to himself that if he ever got the chance he would do something about redressing the balance and somehow making good the city he loved in his imagination.

At the peak of a hugely successsful career as an entertainment innovator, and while running the most influential and globally successful entertainment corporation that the world has ever known Mr Buckland finally got his chance. The sudden and huge collapse of the financial markets in europe led to a completely bankrupted City of London and the chance to finally discover what the world he had so loved as a child reader might be like in reality. He dedicated the whole of the following decade to realising his dream. With the help of the UK government and a dedicated team of architects, builders, craftsmen and imagineers the 21st century city of London was largely demolished and rebuilt. The city was transformed back to exactly how it was in the 1880’s. The result was the most successful themed entertainment complex in the history of the world. A city that attracts not only visitors but residents too, who are able to live there and lead the life of the past.
